After studying the SM and spending many, many hours reading the various threads on this great forum, I worked up the gumption to install some powder coated sliders on my 2007 Road King Custom. I made a tool to take out the 6mm bolt (thanks to dawg) but I wound up rounding out the hex head. I then drained the forks through the screws and took them out of the triple trees. I took the forks to a mechanic friend who took the 6mm bolts out with an impact driver. I then replaced the fork seal and put the slider back on. I reinstalled new 6mm bolts and drain screws. I did not do anything with the split ring thing or anything else. I think I am ready to put the forks back in the trees, add oil, and button up. Am I missing anything? There have been so many informative posts about this that I get confused and think I am forgetting something. Can one of you guys assure me that I am good to go? Your help has been, and is greatly appreciated.

PS: My J&S jack is another tremendous idea that I got from this forum. My King is sitting on it without the front end and it is rock solid without any straps.
