Forgot to cycle my goldfish tank?

Hi, I recently bought a 7 litre fish tank with a filter. I filled it with water and switched it on and then put my fish goldfish straight it. It has only been 2 days and the water has started to go dirty. Is this because I did not leave the tank running for 3 days without fish? What should I do now?
