I read this book probably 10 or more years ago. It was probably in the juvenile or young adult fiction section. This is what I remember:
There were 2 or 3 books in a series, one was telling the story of a small community with 3 or 4 teens, its told from a girls perspective. She's in love with a guy named robert or roger, but for some reason they can't be together.
Then, in the next books the story moves forward 20 or so years to all of those teenagers KIDS and them trying to understand what happened way back when ...
The only other thing I remember is that the main character (girl) had broken her leg and was always having a really hard to getting around town ... I believe it was Winter most of the time as well.
