We have a 1997 Ford Windstar 3.8 liter something.. The speedometer works fine up until about 40 mph then it goes out of control up to 100 mph, the car isn't going faster just the speedometer. Also when it does this it you can hear a hissing kind of noise coming from the dash area where the speedometer is located. Is there any way we can fix this on our own without spending a ton on a repair bill? We have already changed the fuses and the tires..
