FORD WINDSTAR INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON?

I OWN 2 1998 FORD WINDSTARS. THE DASHBOARD INDICATOR SAYS THAT A DOOR IS OPEN EVEN WHEN THERE ISN'T AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL IT KILLS THE BATTERY. I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE DOOR LATCHES, BUT NO ONE CAN RELIABLY TELL ME WHICH ONE. ANY THOUGHTS?
 
My mom had a problem with this on her van, on your sliding door they have some little contacts in the door that have to mesh up with some contacts on the pillar. if they get worn or dirty they can not make contact and the car thinks the doors are open and the lights stay on.
