Ford trucks based on Dodge trucks?

BTW, the twin i-beam suspension is not "BAD." Although it doesn't ride or handle as nicely as independent suspension, the twin i-beam was used on heavy-duty trucks (and also ALL of Ford's trucks) for a looooooong time, because it could withstand a LOT of weight.
 
Dodge used to build Ford trucks back in the day, because Dodge and Jeep were the originators of the heavey duty truck. (1917) If you dont believe me google it. ALSO Ford in the last 5 years bought the front suspension layout from Dodge/Jeep, which Dodge/Jeep they had been using for a long time. A lot of what Ford is today is because of Dodge. Now all the Ford trucks I own need is reliability and a good diesel or Hemi. Yes I do own Ford trucks, im just salty because of their poor quality.

What else will Ford copy?
Ford used to use tiny little twin beam arms along with leaf springs. Then they bought the Jeep/Dodge suspension with the thicker/stronger beam arms with coils and shocks. (were talking heavey duty trucks not 1500's)
Almost forgot to mention the Big Rig style/styling Dodge invented that Ford, Gm, and toyota also copied.
Please people do some research before you comment. Jeep was started in 1906 and Dodge in 1917 both invented the first heavey duty trucks for the wars.
 
I find it hard to believe that Jeep designed the chassis that Ford uses in 1917, when Jeep did not exist until the early 50's.
There are only so many ways to design suspensions, and a study of who gets the credit is interesting in its self.
Take the strut typed suspension so prevalent now, it was designed by a Ford engineer. Does that mean that Toyota gets its design from Ford. I think not. The design has been refined and perfected by many auto companies.
The same is true on truck chassis.
 
i Absolutely dont believe today's ford has a dodge/jeep based suspension...why would the take out a bad suspension [twin I beam] only to put a crappy dodge/jeep sys in,,,
