ford torino with 302 has no power from 0 to 30mph?

I have a 70 torino with a 302 and c6 tranny, edelbrock intake system, HEI ignition, cam, and headers. When i floor it it doesnt have any umphhh like i want it to. After about 3000rpms when the cam kicks in it goes pretty good, but it just doesn't have any holeshot power. I have been told it could be the torque converter or the rear end gears. It has 279 gears. What do you think?
 
Sounds like you have two concerns - a stock converter with a high performance cam and a set of highway gears in the differential.
