I have a choice to make. My family just bought a used Jet Black 1999 Grand Am with a 3.4LV6 generating around 185HP, 27MPG, 80,000 mile, and I have first rights to it. However, I have had a Alpine Green 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX 4.6L V8 with around 25MPG, 152,000 miles, and 230HP my entire driving "career". I have put a lot of work into the T-Bird including a new cold air intake, custom exhaust (hence the increase over manufacture's base HP), custom hood, maintance, hours of wash n wax, etc. Both run like new, but a little nervous about the mileage on my bird...looking for suggestions.
