I'm 16 and own a 1991 ford taurus that stoped running a few days ago. Some old gas got suck into the carbourator, I know how to put gas in carborators, only one proublem, how in the hell do I get to it? It has a Jappiness engine and I have to open it so I can get to the damn thing. So, does anyone know how to get to a carborater on a 1991 ford taurus< or should I even bother.

This vehicle does not have a carburetor, it is fuel injected. Also if it has original engine, it is not a Japanese engine. it should be a 3.0 or3.8 liter ford motor.

You sure you even have a carburetor on your ford tarus, it is a little too new to have one, I would expect fuel injected, also getting any old gas out of the tank, disconnect a fuel line and let the fuel pump remove all the gas itself.

A typical 91 Ford Taurus had a 3.0 Liter fuel injected push rod engine. Some models may have had a 3.8Liter fuel injected engine. Finally, there may have been an "SHO" performance engine car sold that was probably a Japanese engine (Yamaha DOHC) as you say. You may be able to download the owner's manual for the SHO model at the link below. But you will also need a repair manual from Haynes. See the Taurus SHO owner forums and other SHO websites below.

First of all All the Taurus that we made didn't have carbourator on them they are fuel injected and in order to put gas in them you need to remove the hose covering the inlet, However you need to replace the filter for it may be bad then have the fuel rail cleaned or do it yourself use carburator cleaner for all that you do even putting it in the opening, just spray it in the opening but be careful. hope this helps.
