Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable?

Hi there. So I know these cars are virtually the same, however I'm just curious as to the opinions of each, which you would get. I am looking for my first car as a teen and want something that'll last me at least through college.

I am also curious, is the Sable bigger than the Taurus. I don't want a big car, and also like the fact that the Sable/Taurus have good crash test ratings, as I'll be paying for the insurance as well.
Aaron - My very max price is 3000 but I am really looking for something up to 2000, if possible.
 
For the love of god, stay away from those cars, they have a huge rep for having blown head gaskets, my first car was a 1996 Ford Taurus, and it only had 120K miles on it, and not even 130 miles later the gaskets gave out, it's a very expensive repair, over 1000 bucks. And after reading up on it, it was very common for to go out. Insurance was only 60 bucks for me, just for liability. If you are set on getting either one, get the sable, it is much nicer, has better features.

Do you have a price range on what you can spend? I bet I can help you find a way better car
