Ford Taurus error codes?

I have a 2004 ford taurus that has the little engine light on on the dash board. I'm wondering if this car can output the error code. I know many vehicles will out put the code if you input a set of actions like "gas gas gas, right blinker, left blinker, etc". Anyone know?
 
no it will not buy or borrow a scan tool pull the code locate the problem and fix maybe on early model obd1 cars you can dothis but on obd2 when the mil light comes on theres is a problem somewhere
