ford taurus amp and woofer problems?

I have a 2000 ford Taurus and I am trying to install an amp and sub system. Since my stereo is a stock stereo there is no place for an input output cables. I bought an adapter to put in so they can plug into it. Problem is I don’t know what wires to plug into it. Every chart I look at and everything I find gives me wire colores that my car doesn’t even have. So I decided go for broke and cut all the wires that don’t supply power and only go to speakers, when I did this nothing happened! Ever speaker still worked! I have no clue how that works and why everything kept working. I need help.
P.S. I ended up tapping into my back speakers but my sub sounds like the amp isn’t even pushing it, just like more speakers is all. Please give advise to the clueless person.

i don't follow everythibg here but here goes.
line out converter - LOC- taps into your rears assuming it's 2 channel. use that to get the signal to the amp. Then feed the output (speaker wire) of the amp to the sub box. now make sure you're only using the left or right channel from the LOC, not both. Subs use mono signal, NOT stereo. If u must split the LOC right or left signal to feed the amp input but not both. now read my prior answers to questiosn on how to set gains properly and cross over.
note- the speaker cables go right to them so if u tap them from the back just cut them from the speaker. if u tap them from the front near the stereo just go to the back and look for the color codes- negative and positive. positive is usually striped but google the car for the color codes.
