A couple weeks ago I sunk my truck in a huge puddle, sucked water up into the air intake and the truck shut down instantly.
I replaced the started, checked the battery cables, and those are all fine, I took out 6 spark plugs, and made sure to have at least 1 spark plug taken out of each cylinder, on the second spark plug it instantly leaked a bunch of water. At first all it would do was click but once I got those spark plugs out I could turn it over, it shot out all of the water and mess that was inside and i made sure to get all that water out. I sprayed some WD40 into it and spun it over and put the spark plugs back on followed by the wires.
I tried to crank it and it will ALMOST start, but it won't start up.. It spins and spins but won't start. It's a 4 cylinder, 2.5 SOHC and it's automatic. This is the 2001 Ranger.
I plan on changing the oil and filter, I just want to figure out why it won't start. I pulled out a spark plug wire and connected it to a spark plug and put it against a piece of metel and I am getting a spark. So what can it be??
