A friend has a 1999 Ranger with a 4 cylinder engine and five speed transmission. His clutch slave cylinder is definitely bad. Does the bell housing and clutch need to come off to replace the slave cylinder or only the transmission?
the bellhouseing is made on the trans ,so you have to pull it back to get to the slave cly. clutch doesn't have to come off , but if it has a lot of miles on it this would be the time to replace it.
