Ford mondeo keeps losing power.?

Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you get it sorted??
Our 02 ford mondeo (petrol) keeps losing power. we hooked it up at a ford garage and the engine management could find no faults, btu the mechanic took for a drive and said there was def a prob and it seemed like the car was being starved of fuel. We have just replaced the fuel pump and filter and it is still playing up. We are going to have the coils changed to see if that may help. If anyone needs more info on how the car looses power i can add..:)
 
has the engine had a compression check done on it. also has the cam timing been checked. (It could have jumped a tooth on the timing belt).
You could also have a faulty ECU.
 
Sounds like the doohikey isnt connected to the thingymajig-
seriously-make sure the garage you take it to know what they are doin,cut a long story short,i had a problem with my jag and spent loads having parts changed,sensors,coil packs etc and turned out to be just a spark plug was burnt out!!
