recently everytime i use my clutch for a long period of time such as in traffic and i mean slow moving traffic - once i then get going againg and change gear my car makes a whiring noise as if my foot is still on the excellerator even tho it isnt!! what could this be?

It's a common known problem on the KA - our "S" reg one is in the garage at the moment being fixed!
It's the throttle idle valve which stops the engine revving when the accelerator is not depressed. You may be able to fix it yourself. It's on the top of the engine, in the middle, it has a 2-wire electrical plug connector and 2 bolts holding it in place. Disconnect it, remove it, clean it out with petrol and then replace.
This may (like in our car) only be a temporary fix, a replacement will cost about £60, but you may be able to get one from a scrap yard.

Sounds like clutch is slipping and needs replacing

Take it to a garage and get them to have a look

it might be the idle speed control

try taking the battery out for 30 mins to reset it
