Ford Ka driver foot-well soaking?

Hi guys,

I have a 2000 Ford Ka and it is leaking a lot of water into the driver foot-well when it rains. There seems to be a trail of water coming from above the accelerator pedal. I felt under the steering wheel plastic and that too appears to be wet?

I took of the front grate, under the wipers and cleared out any debris; sealed whatever looked like it could let water in - but It is still just as bad.

If anyone can shed some light on this problem it would be great.

It might be leaking through the bottom of the windshield sealant could now be cracked or missing in parts which would let the rain in.
