Ford: Heat and Windshield wipers stopped working?

So I have a 95 ford escort and one day both my heater and windshield wipers stopped working. Occasionally they will kick back on at the same time. I have checked fuses and wire testing. For the winsheild wipers I can trace power all the way from the switch, fuse box to winsheild wiper motor. I replaced the windsheild wiper motor but it still doesn't work. I can't figure out what the heck is going on. Its rainy season I need windshield wipers...PLEASE HELP : ) Thank you in advance.
 
Check that the ignition switch (lock, cylinder & key) is fully in the run position. I had that happen to me a couple of times. I sprayed a graphite lube into the key slot and cleared up the problem. The switch mounted on the steering column under the dash may also be out of adjustment. Good luck.
