Ford Fusion Crack In Bottom Rear?

What can cause a crack going horizontal in the rear of my car?
You can tell a vehicle didn't hit it at all? Maybe but there isn't anything else besides a damn horizontal crack about 4-6 inches long.
 
Maybe some punk kicked while it was in a public parking lot? It could be a Ford defect, too.
