Ford Focus Idle valve?

I think the Idle Control Valve on my X reg Ford Focus needs cleaned as the revs rise when i change gear. Can anyone tell me where it is exactly? Also, can it be removed from inside the engine bay? And what to clean it with? Changing plugs and leads is usually my limit so is it a job i can do myself?
