I had some work done on my 2001 ford focus diesel, and when I got the car back along with other problems the petrol/diesel gauge now stays on empty and the petrol/diesel light stays regardless of how much fuel I put in the tank and the speedo needle doese not move it is always on the wrong side of the clock, that is to say it constantly reads 140mph. does any one know what mite be causing these problems

I know some people will think why do I not bring the car back?, answer, I do not want them to touch the car again, they have crashed it, messed up the inside and caused lots of other problems

There was a problem with certain Ford Focus models to do with an intermittent speedometer fault that was caused by corrosion on the back of the printed circuit board ! This fault was highlighted on the BBC 1 TV Programme 'Watchdog' ! Ford Dealerships were aware of the problem as shown on the programme but the Ford Motor Company apparently did NOT issue a General Recall via the DVLA to the Owner(s)/Keeper(s) of those particular vehicles that were affected by this problem ! The Ford Motor Company stated that the LATEST Model of the Ford Focus is NOT affected by this particular problem as a modification has been carried out to RECTIFY this particular problem !

SOUNDS like car has been arc welded with battery still connected, hence wierd read outs contact AA /RAC FOR advice.
