Ford Focus Cuts out, HELP !!!?

HI have a ford focus and it keeps cutting out ! the speedo drops to 0 and when i slow down the engine either cuts out or kicks in if I press the accelerator quick enough, after 10 mins of driving it the speedo suddenly kicks into life and the car is then fine,
Any idea ????
