where does it go

there a yellow thing with an oil sign on it but it was sealed.
pryed it open and poured some oil in now car is real smokey

help
it wasnt a screw cap, more like a tupperware lid but thinner...the levels is fine, smoke is from exhaust, it cleared up after a run , but the lid thing keeps falling off, cable tied it back on, think it was glued shut

it sounds like you put the oil in the right place, it should have been a screw on cap about 3 inches across on the top of the engine with the little oil symbol on it.

if all you did was add oil to the car, you may have overfilled the oil. find the oil dipstick and, on a level surface, pull it out and wipe the stick clean, then stick it back in, all the way, and pull it back out. look at the end of the stick and you should see some markings; an E near the tip, and an F just up from that. if you put too much oil in your car then there should be a visible line of oil above the F. if that's the case you need to drain the excess oil. to do that there is a bolt in the bottom of the oil pan, at the bottom of the engine. opening this will let oil out, but be careful not to let out to much, and that you have a catch can beneath it to catch any oil.
