hi,i just bought a fiesta 1994 model from a friend, now it wont start, the red keys is being used to for the doors but wont unlock them, but it does lock them.i have to get in thru the boot.also the ignition barrel was change b4 we bought it as some 1 had tried stealing it,i dnt think the ignition key was programed.but no the car wont start and the alarm goes off.we was told not to lock the car because they had trouble opening it with the master key,how do i get the immobilsier to swithch off,or do i need to have the keys reprogrammed

try this , might work , get a coat hanger and place from positive terminal on battery to coil connection ,this worked on my peugeot when the immobilizer played up . A aa man showed me it

Your Ford uses 'chubb' door locks.
A quirk of the system is that ANY key will lock any chubb lock, but only the correct key will unlock them. So firstly, the door keys are wrong. You'll need to use the correct ones to disarm the alarm when you unlock the doors.
If the ignition key turns in the lock barrel, the immobiliser light (the one that flashes red when you take the key out) should extinguish. If the key isn't recognised, the red light will stay on continually & the starter motor will operate but the car won't start.
I suspect you need to have the correct key cut for the doors & have the ignition one programmed for the car.

Red key is obviously not for the door locks and this is why it will only lock them, maybe this is the master for the new ignition lock?
If no keys work you will need them reprogrammed

hi,because you got in through the boot is why the alarm is going off,you need to unlock the car using the key in the drivers door.put the key in the lock and while turning to unlock move the key about.any ford will lock a ford.hope this helps
