Basically, when the door handles on both sides of the passenger door were attempted to be opened, while the door was locked, the door will no longer close or lock. Each handle has seemed to lost it's functionality and the door will no longer work properly. The battery had to be disconnected of course due to power draining, can anyone help with this problem? I have seen a similar thread with the best answer being "I don't know" in more or less words. Please help! I cant lock up my car!

The door isn't locked, its the fact that the latch won't close over the prong to make a sealed door. It goes all the way over, just not closing, still remaining open (in response to the 2nd suggestion)
