Ford F150 Bent Differential?

My truck was recently in an accident. It was parked and was hit so hard on the bumper, left panel and tire that it was pushed about 2 foot up onto the sidewalk. Ford is now telling me that the differential is bent, the leaf spring on the side of impact (it had a slight lift) is separated and the nuts and bolts are compromised. All of the repairs are going to be covered by insurance, thank god, but I'm wondering about the integrity of the truck after these major repairs. Is replacing a differential a good thing? Will I notice any difference in the ride? Has safety been compromised what-so-ever?
