I have just replace my carb, starter relay, ignition coil, plugs, wires, starter cable and pulled the starter off and cleaned it, after putting it back on i hooked up the battery and when i went to start it, the battery cables melted,( I was told I needed to ground it in order to keep my relay from heating up and melting my starter cable which has already happened). Im not too sure on how to ground so I grounded my starter cable(the on that runs from the relay to the starter) and my negative battery cable and they all melted after trying to start it. Then after I disconnected the grounds and hooked my cables back up it continues to try to start even without the key in the ignition. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!
