I went to change the filter and fluid in my 2007 F-150 V8. All went well until I went to pour the fluid from the pan. I found a yellow what looks like plunger with a 0 ring and stem about 1 1/2 inch long. It was just sitting in the pan loose. Using a magnifying glass there is no wear on the 0 ring and I can still see the cross milling marks on the end of the stem which looks like it has never been moved by anything. I can find no place where it might fit going either direction. When I did drop the filter that opening was the closest to a fit but it was too loose and the filter would have had to come undone for it to have fallen out.
Any ideas?
Hoping it was a extra part left in. I have 41,000 miles and not even a hint of a problem
