Ford explorer didn't start in cold weather?

in cold weather it didnt start. After towing it into a garage, where it stayed overnight it started fine next morning. Fuel pump works, batterys fine, it had 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I suspect the neutral safety switch is giving me problems but I dont know if the problem is related
