Ford Expedition license plate light woes?

one of my license plate lights went out on my ford expedition, it's not the bulb b/c i tried it on the other side and it works fine. it doesn't look like the socket it replaceable...how can I fix? it looks corroded, but should still work?
 
Try getting in there with something small and sharp to scrape away at the corrosion to get a good metal contact again.
 
Most license plate lights have 1 wire and use the base as a ground.
Clean it real good and it should work again.
Sand it with some fine sandpaper. Be careful you don't scratch the chrome
