I have a 1998 ford escort le sx, 5 speed. Sometimes when the car gets hot ( the temp light/gauge doesn't indicate high temp. I know because I drive alot and can feel the heat) the engine sputters, begins to idle low and almost cut off. I would like to know what the possibles causes may be. I've tuned up the car w/new plugs and wires, added injector cleaners, changed the air filter and changed the oil. Also, I had my fan motor checked to see if it works. Could it be that the fan only works every now and then? Can someone out there help me diagnose this problem? Otherwise the car runs fine!
