By mistake tried to jump start the car and put positive to negative and 100A fuse blown out, so changed the fuse, then jump start the car with portable battery, it start but as soon as I disconnect the portable battery it dies, so I put new battery in the car , the car start, now the battery light is on telling me it is not charging. So is it possible it burn the wire from alternator to battery or I have bad alternator. The car is 12 years old and it is original Alternator. I call Ford and they said they do not have the cable that goes from alternator to battery, so I am screwed if it is the wire. Any help ???
THANKS GUYS .. I will start checking the line and may change the alternator. IT IS $260 , and Sears will charge $85 to replace it ..so it is not bad but if it is the wire then I do not know how to find the wire since Ford discontinue the wire. So keep my finger cross to fix the problem with change of alternators
