I have a ford escort which was given to me by somebody about a week ago. At first it started 1st time then it would take a few cranks to start, now the starter motor can be heard trying to start but it wont start. I think it may be a battery problem like they charged the battery b4 they gave it to me and it has gradually been loosing its power? If any one has had a similar experience or has any ideas i would appertiate it, (I have had it running and it drives fine although there is no exhaust back box, but i want to sort out the starting problem before i shell out for a new exhaust), william
