I bought a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria ex hw patrol car from Florida and registered and titled it in PA. I had PA inspection done with no problem and recently I was pulled over by the police. He said window tint was too dark and he could not see in (because of sun glare) but you can clearly see inside the vehicle. He also said no police force in America has window tint on any police car. I called up the FHP and they said he is a clown. I noticed on the PA Code site that "175.265. Exemption provisions.
(a) Exempt vehicles. The following vehicles are exempt from § 175.263 (relating to sun screening location):
(1) A hearse, ambulance or government vehicle.
(2) A vehicle for which a certificate of exemption has been issued by the Department under subsection
This law does not state if it had to be a current government vehicle to have this exemption so therefore was it legal to get a citation for it?
Everyone keeps saying the same thing but yall are interpreting the law to be something. It does not clearly state in the exemption that it is void when it is transferred to a public car. It was never even brought to my attention when inspected. And clearly the exemption does not state that it has to be a current government vehicle
