I went out this morning to start my 98 Ford Contour and the first time I turned the key all i got was a fast clicking and my windshield wipers would turn on, I tried again, this time holding the key in the starting position for longer and it clicked for about 5 seconds and then it started trying to turn over for about 10 seconds then started and died. I did it again and after about 15 seconds of holding the key in the starting position it finally started. If i turn the car off and then on again within 5-10 min it starts right up but if i wait over that it does this whole thing again but eventually starts after holding the key in the starting position for awhile. The windshield wipers turn on until the car starts then they are normal and the car drives normal. Anyone heard of this?
