Ford 460 Cam Replaced, possible sticking valve.?

I've just replaced the cam in my 83 F250. Can beginners do it? Yeah, sure. It requires lots of note taking on long and short bolts, and going to various Auto Parts stores to assemble the required gaskets. Short of it is, I've got the top end going back together. I used the Summit Racing Cam # 3500 with associated lifters. The exhaust lifter on the #5 cylinder was missing about 1/4 of an inch of material. I would assume this is the culprit for all the tapping. Sounded like Santa's Workshop with all the tapping. I've used the assembly lube, got the cam in, soaked the lifters in oil, assembly lubed them, set the pushrods into the lifter then rocker arms. I ran engine cleaner through the engine before disassembly and hope that this "unstuck" the valve. I want to make sure the valve isn't stuck before first start up. It is alot of work to redo. How would I go about ensuring no stuck valves. The springs arent compressed or stuck, or doesnt appear so. Should I turn the engine over and over to check spring compression or is there a better way without removing the head?

bad valve or bad lifter you already know the problem it was missing
you can remove valve cover crank motor and watch it work it don t move or not can do a compression test and guess but if you know something wasnt right then you know your answer

bad valve or push rod
is what works lifters
cam turns pushes push rod pushes lifter pushes valve
so just remove valve cover watch rocker arms dont see one move then take it a part check heads and push rods possible one bent
