I'm getting back into shape and build strength with weight training, but there are no decent gyms around me. I do strength training without weights, but I'm looking to build my upper body, legs and overall muscle mass and power for outdoor activities and increased general fitness-- not bodybuilding. So, I want to start with adding a few affordable pieces of equipment at home. I'm not going to have a spotter during the times I can work out. Any unusual ideas? It can be something unusual, maybe I haven't thought about, rather than the standard weights.
