well it depends on the state your in, here in North Carolina a few years ago i didn't have to parallel park, all we did was go down the road a little ways then do a 3 point turn and then go back to the DMV, but states are different so yours might require you to or they might not
but just try to calm down and if you don't pass the first time don't let that discourage you, you'd be surprised how many people don't pass their first time
