For T-mobile can i have 2 individual plans?

My dad already has a T-mobile individual plan.Can he pay for another individual plan or does he have to get a family plan? I want the sidekick08/09 doesn't matter which one i just don't want it to cost a lot to get it, because i'll most likely get the cheaper one
 
A family plan will be cheaper. As long as someone does not over use the minutes! Ether way he can cut you off if he thinks your hogging the minutes or spending more time on the phone than you need too.
