I am especially trying to find a wide range of opinions for the skinning of animals for fur specifically more than leather, for use in fashion. Also if you are against fur industry, do you agree that if nothing else vintage (or recycled fur) is better than encouraging modern fur trading.

I'd like to know your opinions guys!
Oh and this is for homework, but i have a wide basis on my opinion, im just forming a poll - and reasons for your answers... im anti-fur but i need to cover both sides :)

there is NO way someone can justify the brutal treatment and then murder of animals JUST FOR FASHION! its absolutely apalling! we have made so many synthetic fibers that require no abuse of animals and look EXACTLY the same! i cannot wrap my mind around why someone would ever wear the fur of an animal that was treated so terribly and then killed, and actually support it! its disgusting!

AGAINST!! It's a disgusting thing. The poor animals. Their is so much more than fur to wear. Why kill innocent animals? Use something that doesn't kill.

Nope nope nope. I kinda like Uggs(in a way) but they should definitley use faux. I would buy them if they were faux. I think its wrong that they ACTUALLY do that just so some follower can wear a pair of shoes.

no fur for me unless its faux!!! bottom line doesnt matter if it was used a billion times (eww gross) i only wear furs that they dont kill to get like wool from a sheep or something. but cottons better to wear for most things anyway. cotton breathes. and its grown so its not endangering any animals. actually now that i think about it, it might (to grow cotton) because they have to clear a space for a farm which might take away habitat. aww but thats why people like me need to help endangered species i guess but there is not much i can do now being 13

ugh. i am against it.
im sick of people going crazy for uggs and rabbit fur scarves.
it's sick, and inhumane.
i have a pair of fake uggs [man-made materials], and they look the same!
the only difference is the logo, and the extreme price difference.

lol i better not be doing your homework for you xD
i think the fur trade is a very debatable subject. on the one hand, if you're going to kill the animal anyway, you might as well use the whole animal and not let anything go to waste (like the native indians did with buffalo). if you're going to kill them for food, why would you just throw everything else away, when there are many people who could get good use from it? but on the other hand, there are many companies that actually breed animals for sole purpose of being skinned, and they are locked up in little cages with awful conditions all of their lives with little food, only to be slaughtered in a brutal, inhumane way. there's also the moral issue of "right now, i'm wearing the skin of another animals back". if that doesn't feel awful, i don't know what does. But it's all very subjective, if you're a vegetarian in the first place and don't believe in the killing of animals at all, then you have every right to be against the use of fur, i'd be shocked if you didn't. but it's slightly hypocritical if you actually are a carnivore, don't you think?
but yeah, recycled fur is good in any case.
