How would you rewrite a portion of the first official stanza of "Der Duetschlandlied" to reflect the Germany of today. FYI for those who are ignorant: "Duetschland uber Alles" was written by Hoffman von Fallersleben in 1841 with the tune composed by Joseph Haydn in 1797." Hitler corrupted (ruined) it, and along with other things, bent it to his Nazi cause. It is NOT (and never was) a "Nazi" song...that is only illegal to sing at public events in Germany, but as I gather you can sing it in full anywhere else...but I digress. Anyway how wold you "fix" it to correct for geographic purposes?
