For grad school, is it my financial info or my parents that determines financial aid?

I'm 22 years old,a senior in college and applying to grad school. Are financial aid decisions determined by my financial situation, wealth and income, or my parents' financial situation, wealth and income? If it is based on my parents, I won't get any aid.
