West Coast Bias

If you're star player is accused of something (steroids, rape, etc) and you use the "innocent until proven guilty," line how can you seriously bitch about another team's player when they're accused of something. I just find it extremely hard to believe that anyone can truly become convict someone in their own mind when they have already dismissed something similar for their own player.

This goes for baseball with Manny, A-Rod, and Barry and their steroid scandals to basketball with Kobe's "rape" and LeBron's "confiscation." Fans of the other team are all always so fast to convict the other player even after so furiously defending their own. It's OK to rib people about things like this and make jokes, but to straight up say one guy did it and your guy didn't, that just doesn't make sense sports fan or not. As a Giants fan who has suffered countless people hating Barry Bonds for something he hasn't been convicted of, I still kind find a way to hate Manny Ramirez for being anything more than a dodger. Also, as a Laker-hating Warrior fan, I can't find a way to hate Kobe for anything more than being a Laker.

The question is: Do sports fans get like this because of passion for they're team or is it because they just truly believe they're always right.
