Yes I have a track bike.. but It didn't start with all that Fixed Gear and Single Speed craze. I had a track bike in the late 80's to the early 90's. I recently bought myself a Cinelli Mash, with Profile Cobra Wing Bullhorns, a Front HED-3, a rear Mavic Ellipse with a 15t COG, a Thomson Elite seatpost, a ritchey WCS 4 axis 100mm stem, Sugino 75 BB, Sugino 75 Crank Arms, Sugino 75 46t Chainring. I also have a D.I.D chain. I know bullhorns are illegal on the track, and so are some of my other components but is my setup a good set up ? Great one ? Bad one ? Please give me some tips. Thank you !
No I wouldn't have been more knowledgable. Back in the days I honestly didn't care about all the fancy parts and gears. In the past I had cranks break on me, chains snap on me, handlebars bend on me, saddles that would kill your balls at the end of the day, tires that would go flat, rims that would crack or bend easily. I never knew why, so I stopped riding. After several years later, gas prices went up, I figured that biking once in a while to go to places wouldn't hurt. I went to the same old bike shop, I realized their parts were a bunch of china made shit parts. I never returned. After some time I bought my cinelli with some components. The seller told me most of the parts were high end parts. After doing some price checking, I realized he was telling the truth. I honestly don't like researching too much about something, so I'm asking whether or not my parts are good for riding without my cranks having the brake, and my rims cracking or my chain snapping easily.
