I have to write an argumentative essay for English 101 and I was thinking about a good topic that is appealing to me as well. (Note I am not allowed to write about euthanasia/death penalty and other over-used topics). Would it be possible to argue with supporting facts that history is imperative and beneficial to be knowledgeable on? I would use George Santayana's quote "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." to help my case. What do you think? Any possible thesis statements coming to mind?
