For all the people whining out there about socialism and paying more taxes

who is going to take care of mental? ally ill people, retarded, our veterans, elderly etc. because these are the people that welfare programs support. Are we to just let these folks die in our streets because no one wants there taxes to go up and no one wants to help people who are unable to work. I agree that yes there are some lazy slackers out there such as welfare Moms but there welfare benefits have a cap on them until they can get jobs or go to school and better themselves. So who supports the programs if our taxes don't? And yes I do work 2 jobs and pay plenty of taxes and I support Obama/Biden. I also don't mind paying taxes to help those less fortunate than myself.
To humanbeagle I have a college education and student loans that I pay for too.
 
OK. we have Medicaid.(poor) Medicare. (elderly) SCHIPP (kids), VA hospitals (veterans) . All these could be combined into one government health program saving us taxpayers big dollars and probably serve more people. The government always ruins a good idea.
 
how about instead of raising taxes lets stop wasting money on partisan programs like acorn and use that money to help the homeless vets etc. a few more million from a worthless group to a group that actually helps people would probably be a better way to approach. wouldn't you agree?
