Is it possible to adjust the foot shifter on a VTX R to lift the toe shift a little to allow for a boot to get under it? The retro has the foot pads, not the pegs which limits the clearance under it...

Ive had to return 2 pairs of boots so far and after comparing others, alot of the work/ride boots have that curve in the front sole toe or just a tall solid toe in general that makes it difficult to get under it, theones i have are so broken in, the toe sinks in a good bit

Im not afraid to turn a wrench, but dont want to start wrenching pieces before i know where to look, specially when dealing with the clutch...

Thanks in advance.

Kelly is absolutely right on in the answer. Just unscrew the bolt holding the shifter, pull it off the shaft, then reinstall it . Make sure to tighten the bolt when you get the adjustment where you want it.

You do not have to touch any clutch adjustment to do this. You seem to indicate you have floor boards rather than footpegs. You might have to remove the floorboard in order to gain access to the shifter bolt, but that is only a guess since I do not have a VTX in my shop to look at right now.

sure remove bolt in shaft pull off level move up a notch or two retighten bolt ive done it a few times i know what you mean don thave to mess with clutch at all don thave to do anything but remove one bolt slide level off move it up and what i did was stick my boot under it and then slide level back on easy 10 minute or less
