Foodfight! movie

I assume you're talking about this film.

No, it never did, and thank god for that. Nothing about Foodfight! sounded appealing, it would've shown exactly how seemed in commercialism our society is these days (and not in a satirical way). Plus, from what I remember of the early images they showed off, the animation would have probably made Pinocchio 3000 look like a masterpiece. Heck, it might've barely been on par with Sir Billi.

Really, the bad press this monstrocity got soon after it was announced probably squashed whatever remote chance it could've gotten at being produced. Good riddance to horrible rubbish.

Yes that is the film I was refering to, thank you.

Were you involved with the film? Seems like you have quite a developed opinion about a film that hasn't even been released yet.

I can't tell if you're joking or being completely serious when you ask this. If you're serious, I already explained why I have such a developed opinion:

Just because a film isn't out yet (or, in this case, never will be out) doesn't mean I can't have a formed opinion on how it would've been. In other words, I know crap when I see it.

So you didn't work on the film? I didn't, by the way, and am in no way associated with it. I am just curious to know more about it seeing as it was produced by Threshold Entertainment who I think made the Mortal Kombat movies and the Christopher Lambert Beowulf movie. Foodfight! seemed to me like a very unusual venture for them.

You mention images (from which you somehow managed to guess the animation quality?) released but I could not find any online. Also, you seem very much against what I am guessing is the product placement nature of the brand name characters (according to the wiki article you have provided), but can I ask how this is different from say Toy Story, which had Slinky Dog and Mr. Potato Head as main characters?

The movie has a whole website worth of information on it.

Toy Story using real toy characters is only promoting toys; toys are typically harmless. Also, Toy Story has a good enough story that it isn't really thrusting toy ads in your face every five minutes.

It's when you have something like Foodfight, which really did seem like it would've pushed the marketing aspect to the extreme, that it gets ridiculous. Also, it seemed like it was mainly going to focus on junk food promotion.

Toy Story has product placement done right. Foodfight wasn't going to be.

Thank you for the website link. That is incredibly informative.

I see that Lawrence Kasanoff himself directed Foodfight! the Movie. Interesting in that he has previously brought in directors to shoot his other productions for Threshold (including Paul WS Anderson).

The cast list is quite impressive. There seems to be much talent associated with this production.

Has Foodfight! definitely been cancelled then? The website doesn't seem to indicate this but I also couldn't find a release date on there either.

I am pretty sure that Foodfight! has been cancelled forever. Even though I wasn't exactly looking foward to it, I would want to see it just to see how it turned out.

He's already animated.

Anyways, I'm kinda glad Threshold stopped making it. Although the Lego films were decent (though they too, had there share of problems as well).
