Food poisoning - help!

I don't know which forum to ask this in:

I believe I have a case of food poisoning after eating clam chowder from a local diner. I had a fever of 101.8 that came on very quickly and went back down within about 6 hours. Now I have some nausea, and I have diarrhea (was very pale, orange-y color, now after taking a few doses of pepto bismol tablets it's darker but still with an orange-y color to it).

I am resting and drinking clear fluids nonstop and haven't eaten much except for some toast. I can't afford to be out of commission for too long. How can I feel better faster?

The worst part is these TERRIBLE lower abdominal cramps! They're not constant, they just preceed each episode of diarrhea. Please, if anyone knows how to make these subside or at least not be so bad, please share your secrets!

Boy do I sympathise...
I had food poisoning after eating snails while I was in france...bleagh my own fault for chooseing them I know!
I figured it was better out than in, and I didn't drink TOO much fluids only beacuse it had to come out again soon after.(sorry if too much info..lol)
But I did ask a pharmacist and he told me to take some pepto bismol tablets and a little fluid when I could stomach it not pints and pints he also said stick to the BRAT diet for a few days too to help my stomach settle
(bananas, rice, applesauce and toast)
Hope you feel better soon :)

Thanks! I've been taking pepto tablets, and I also took some extra strength Tylenol which seems to have helped the really painful intestinal cramps. Hopefully this will pass soon!
