Flu Shot Side Effects

I have gotten the annual flu shot for as long as I can remeraber. I never had any problem with the exception of some soreness at the injection sight and in that arm. I got this years flu shot a week ago and since then I am fatigued and sleep longer than normal. I also nap but I just can't get my energy back. My temperature is normal and my BP is about the same as usual. I did read a brief article that stated seniors may have more side effects that usual.

Anyone else having a similar experience after the flu shot?
 
No, I felt just fine. Remeraber, it's a killed virus so it cannot give you any disease or illness. Perhaps you already had a "bug"?
 
I hope that your reaction wasn't to the shot, but nothing would surprise me.
I have had the flu shot every year. This year, every meraber of my family had a reaction. My husband ran 101 fever for one night. My teen got a large swollen lymph node in his armpit (same arm as shot). Even though I am in generally good heath, I have been seen by a nuraber of docs over the last few months for some slightly mysterious neuropathy symptoms. My doc assured me that it was fine to go ahead and get the flu shot. Within 24 hours, I developed strange facial symptoms. Not paralysis, bus nurabness, and tingling on the side of my face. Same side as the shot. I went to see the doctor right away, and he assured me that it wasn't connected in anyway to the flu shot. A week later, my nose and eye are running (only on that one side) and I still have a strange tingling, nurabness on my face. Scary stuff. Also, strange feelings on one side of my throat. Again, my doc is unconcerned. Finally, I met with a friend who is also a doc. He felt that I had symptoms of pre- Bell's Palsy and has put me on Valtrex and Prednisone. I am furious that my doctor refused to believe that my symptoms had anything to do with the vaccine. I hope that I don't develop additional symptoms.
 
Sorry to hear your first doc was so thick headed.:rolleyes: Thank goodness you found someone who actually listened! One question, how is Bell's palsy related to the flu shot? Bell's is caused by a virus, but not the flu virus.
 
Neither my husband nor I has ever had any reaction to flu shots until this year. Both he and I had painful inflammatory site reactions that lasted more than 10 full days. I don't know for a fact, but suspect that it's the H1N1 portion of the vaccine - which we didn't get last year - that might be to blame. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the sneaky manufacturers might have used the supply of the H1N1 vaccine that they couldn't give away last year into this years' batch.
 
Thats a scary thought. I always thought that all vaccines were pretty safe, but I now have some concern about these mass produced flu shots.
 
I have had this years flu shot - no reaction except the normal sore arm.
Also had the pneumonia shot - same results.
THEN, last week had a tetnus shot - I did have a fever and felt yucky after that one.
